  Family activities and concerts at the Palau

  It is now 15 years since the Palau de la Música Catalana introduced its Cycle of Family Concerts at the Palau, an initiative whose goal is to kindle the passion for and appreciation of music to the youngest members of the household. These are shows conceived and created so that music interacts with other forms of artistic expression such as dance, theater, poetry or the plastic arts, aimed at encouraging the curiosity, imagination and creativity of young and old alike.

  Model Barcelona Architecture Festival

  The Model festival, which is being held from 20 to 30 April, will be the first major event for when Barcelona becomes the World Capital of Architecture in 2026. Model is a plural and multidisciplinary space for reflection addressing the main challenges of the 21st century, such as climate change, from an architectural and urban planning perspective. For two weeks, the streets of Barcelona will become a laboratory for architectural experimentation, where people can visit ephemeral installations, attend conferences, see shows, participate in workshops and much more. This joint initiative of Barcelona City Council and the Architects' Association of Catalonia will transform the city's urban space into a party for its residents for a few days.

  17a Modernist Fair of Barcelona

  The 17th edition of the Barcelona's Modernist Fair will take place on May 19th, 20th and 21st. This year, it is dedicated to the modernist architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner, on the 100 anniversary of his death. A virtual leap into the Barcelona of the late 19th and early 20th centuries to stroll and enjoy a unique architectural and cultural heritage in the world.

  Modernism Festival of Colonia Güell

  In order to promote the historical, cultural and artistic legacy of the Colonia Güell, the Modernism Festival has been held for the last twenty years. It is a day in which the working and modernist world at the end of the 19th century is recreated. The streets of the Colonia, located in the town of Santa Coloma de Cervelló, are filled with dramatized scenes of daily life from 100 years ago, with the incomparable backdrop of the modernist architecture of the Colonia.

  Fira Modernista de Terrassa

  Since 2003, lovers of Modernisme have had the opportunity to travel back in time at the Fira Modernista, in Terrasa. This city is one of the greatest exponents of Catalan modernism, and during the fair it takes visitors on a journey back into the past through historical recreations, traditional craftsmen's stalls, period costumes, exhibitions, shows and visits to the main buildings constructed in this style. This year, the main theme is College.

  The Palace Europe and the Gates of Hell

  The Palau de la Música Catalana is without doubt one of the culminating works of the arquitect Lluís Domènech i Montaner. In 2023 to commemorate the centenary of his death, various events will be held and will revolve around three themes: Polycentric Domènech, Domènech the Architect and Domènech, Europe and beyond. Under this European gaze, the Palau is programming an exhibition that covers all the details of its conception and construction in a new and revealing light, since it places special emphasis on the creative foundation of Domènech i Montaner. The exhibition covers how the architect brought together all the arts typical of the modernist era (sculpture, mosaics and stained glass) and also reflects how he was inspired by large international concert halls.

  The plans of Domènech i Montaner in situ

  The only modernist building that has conserved absolutely all the plans, including those that were not intended to be kept, are those of Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau. On the occasion of the centenary of the death of Lluís Domènech i Montaner, the venue has organized an interesting exhibition of the building plans displayed in the very spaces that they represent so that you can view them in situ. The display is made up of a variety of types of documents, from plans and sketches to decorative details, diagrams, structural details, elevations and so on.

  The historiated mosaics in the Administration Pavilion

  The Administration Pavilion in the Recinto Modernista de Sant Pau is adorned with many beautiful decorative mosaics. This exhibition provides us with an opportunity to admire the plans in detail thanks to a complete reproduction of all of them that will allow us to put them into context historically, understand the reason for their choice and delve into their technique.
