  Buddhist Film Festival of Catalonia

  Barcelona hosts a new edition of the Buddhist Film Festival of Catalonia, committed to the dissemination of Buddhist values such as non-violence, the interdependence of all living beings and respect for the environment and all forms of life. In order to bring them closer, different films and documentaries are screened that focus on several current topics, all of them priorities, such as gender equality, education and the climate emergency. In addition to films, the festival will include activities such as presentations, meditation sessions, workshops for children and film forums.

  Inside Berlanga Caixaforum Barcelona

  Thanks to the cataloging and digitization of Berlanga's private archive, this unprecedented exhibition offers an intimate and untold look into the life of Luis García Berlanga (1921-2010). Organized by Caixaforum, the exhibition takes visitors on a journey through the filmmaker's life, his work and his international influence. Visitors can discover his unique perspective on the history of Spain as well as very personal aspects such as his fears, traveling through the different facets of his life.

  The world of Hans Zimmer A new dimension

  Hans Zimmer is an extremely innovative film score composer. He has composed famous soundtracks such as Gladiator, Inception, Top Gun, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Dark Knight trilogy and the multi-award-winning The Lion King, as well as many more projects. His music is characterized by its percussion, its fusion with electronic music, its out-of-tune pianos and the use of synthesizers. With these ingredients, Zimmer's genius lets us travel back to Ancient Rome and far into the future. Now Zimmer himself has prepared a brand new selection from his diverse collection of scores under the title A New Dimension, which will be presented at Palau Sant Jordi as a very special, glamorous, vital and exciting live experience.

  Visual origin Film video information

  The group FVI (Film Vídeo Informació) was founded in Barcelona in 1977. It brought together experimental film and video authors, photographers, poets and artists, its core members being Eugènia Balcells, Eugeni Bonet, Juan Bufill, Carles Hac Mor, Manuel Huerga, Ignacio Julià and Luis Serra. Amid the democratic transition, this group's objective was to explore and showcase the possibilities of experimental cinema and video. Through screenings and a printed magazine called Visual, they sparked debates at a key moment of open-mindedness in Spain's history. Now the Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona - MACBA - museum revives this project in an exhibition that vindicates FVI and Visual as the origin of numerous subsequent collaborations in the audiovisual field.
