The Sala Jamboree is the Barcelona temple of jazz par excellence, where great legends and young promises of jazz have played. Figures like Bill Coleman, Kenny Drew, Chet Baker, Ponny Poindexter, Art Farmer, Lou Bennet, Stéphan Grappelli, Kenny Clarke, Cecil Taylor, Elvin Jones, Steve Grossman and Al FosGordon have all been on stage.
  
  All styles are represented, from vanguard to Dixieland passing through bop, fusion, vocal jazz, mainstream, nu-jazz, tango-jazz, flamenco jazz and Latin jazz, without forgetting other Afroamerican styles such as blues and gospel.
  
  This venue is a cultural benchmark of Barcelona, which won the Gold Medal of the city.

  Gran Festival Flamenco de Barcelona

  Live the most authentic, top-class flamenco at the Palau de la Música Catalana. Carmen, Carmen, Carmen pays tribute to Carmen Amaya, one of the most important figures in the history of flamenco dancing. This gypsy, born in the emigrant, gypsy district of Somorrostro in Barcelona, directed her professional career from the sailor taverns of Barcelona to the White House of President Roosevelt.

  Among the range of musical activities in Barcelona, there are three classical music theaters: the modernist Palau de la Música Catalana, the Gran Teatre del Liceu -historic opera theater- and the modern L'Auditori. Barcelona Obertura Classic and Lyric is a collaboration created in 2015 to promote a series of events in these three theaters. It is an alternative that put the rich variety of music played in Barcelona on the international map, and places it on the world musical scene as one the the cities that adores classical music.

  Family activities and concerts at the Palau

  It is now 15 years since the Palau de la Música Catalana introduced its Cycle of Family Concerts at the Palau, an initiative whose goal is to kindle the passion for and appreciation of music to the youngest members of the household. These are shows conceived and created so that music interacts with other forms of artistic expression such as dance, theater, poetry or the plastic arts, aimed at encouraging the curiosity, imagination and creativity of young and old alike.

  The Petit Liceu is an initiative of the Gran Teatre del Liceu to bring music to the youngest members of the family. A program that features all-time classics, adapted for the whole family to enjoy.

  Nits d'Estiu Summer nights

  Throughout the summer, most evenings see special cultural and gastronomic activities held at venues around the city. Many modernista spaces, such as La Pedrera and Casa Batlló, host concerts, suppers, drinks and audiovisual shows. In turn, several cultural venues, including Poble Espanyol, CaixaForum and El Born Centre de Cultura i Memoria, open late at least one night a week, allowing you to enjoy their exhibitions and special activities away from the daytime crowds and heat.
  
  Film fans can head to open-air screenings like Sala Montjuïc, which shows movies at the castle on top of Montjuïc, Gandules, an event at the CCCB where the audience sits in deckchairs (gandules in Catalan), and Cosmonits, a whole programme of sci-fi films at CosmoCaixa.
