  Visual origin Film video information

  The group FVI (Film Vídeo Informació) was founded in Barcelona in 1977. It brought together experimental film and video authors, photographers, poets and artists, its core members being Eugènia Balcells, Eugeni Bonet, Juan Bufill, Carles Hac Mor, Manuel Huerga, Ignacio Julià and Luis Serra. Amid the democratic transition, this group's objective was to explore and showcase the possibilities of experimental cinema and video. Through screenings and a printed magazine called Visual, they sparked debates at a key moment of open-mindedness in Spain's history. Now the Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona - MACBA - museum revives this project in an exhibition that vindicates FVI and Visual as the origin of numerous subsequent collaborations in the audiovisual field.

  The other side Centre d'Art Santa Mònica

  The Centre d'Art Santa Mònica has organized an engaging immersive exhibition that invites visitors to venture in without reservation, leaving behind all commonly accepted notions. The Other Side symbolizes shedding rigid and binary definitions, incapable of describing the complexity that surrounds us. Through works by artists such as Francesca Llopis, Anna Irina Russel, Domestic Data Streamers and Yapci Ramos, The Other Side offers the opportunity to walk through an innovative space.

  ExDesigner Project Bar DHUB Barcelona DHUB Barcelona

  The Ex-Designer Project Bar is a venue whose interior was digitally designed and entirely produced using 3D printing technology, featuring a built-in bar. Since its opening in 2015, it has been constantly redesigned with two on-site 3D printers. It operated as a bar for more than 4 years and now DHUB Barcelona offers the opportunity through its exhibition Ex-Designer Project Bar to see it in its current format, where the bar has been disassembled and is considered an object showcasing the walls and other elements. The exhibition also explains both the production and dismantling process. The Ex-Designer Project Bar is a project by Martí Guixé, a designer known for questioning the role of designers and the need to continue designing objects.

  ADI Awards 2024

  The ADI awards gather and recognize objects designed in the last two years. This exhibition allows visitors to see all the selected entries and the winners of this year's edition across its three areas of focus. The Delta Awards are aimed at manufacturing companies, the ADI Medals recognize designs from undergraduate or master's projects by young students, and the ADI Culture Awards are granted to projects that have helped promote and modernize the social and conceptual aspects of industrial design. The exhibition can be seen at DHUB Barcelona and is structured around different itineraries.

  Suzanne Valadon Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya

  Suzanne Valadon (1865-1938) was an emblematic figure of the Montmartre Bohemian scene in the early 20th century. As a painter, illustrator and engraver, Valadon practiced all genres, from portraits and nudes to still lifes and landscapes. Now the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya, in collaboration with the Centre Pompidou-Metz and the Musée d'Art de Nantes, offers the opportunity to discover this artist and explore the different interactions that took place in the avant-garde circles in which Suzanne Valadon played a significant role from 1910 to 1930.

  Bernard Plossu Catalan landscapes inspired by Picasso Museu Picasso

  Photographer and French National Photography Prize winner Bernard Plossu (Da Lat, Vietnam, 1945) is a great admirer of Picasso. Plossu followed in the footsteps of the genius artist through the different places and territories that were significant in his biography, such as Horta de Sant Joan, Gósol, Cadaqués and Barcelona, among others, and photographed them using the Fresson printing technique, which gives his photographs a special, subtle and sober texture. Now they can be seen in the exhibition organized by Museu Picasso in Barcelona.

  Tuan Andrew Nguyen Our ghosts live in the future Fundació Joan Miró

  Vietnamese-American artist Tuan Andrew Nguyen was the winner of the 8th Edition of the Joan Miró Prize. Now, the Fundació Joan Miró presents his first solo exhibition in Spain. Through a selection of video installations and sculptures made from discarded bombs and abandoned projectiles from the Vietnam War, Nguyen reflects on the human and material consequences of the two Vietnam Wars fought by France and the United States. Additionally, the artist has created a dialogue between Joan Miró and Alexander Calder expressed through Nguyen's films, installations and objects.

  Centre d'Art Amatller opens the doors of the largest digital exhibition of the Sorolla Year. Sorolla, a new dimension offers an immersive journey through the life and work of the outstanding artist through immersive 360º projections, virtual reality, digital installations and other technological resources.   Pure Gold Upcycled Upgraded Museu del Disseny DHUB

  Upcycling has long ceased to be a fad and has become a statement of intent. The exhibition Pure Gold. Upcycled! Upgraded!, organized by ifa (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen) in conjunction with the Goethe-Institut and with the support of Disseny Hub (the Design Museum of Barcelona), explores the reuse of waste and its transformation into design objects through artistic processes. The exhibition features a selection of pieces curated by the exhibition commissioner Voker Albus and works from the collections of the Design Museum of Barcelona, along with contributions from around the world. It reflects how upcycling adds value when creating new objects.  The exhibition is complemented by a virtual platform and local workshops, emphasizing the project's cornerstones: ethics, responsibility, internationalization and co-creation.
