ORC Double Handed World Championship
The Reial Club Nàutic de Barcelona and the Real Federación Española de Vela are in charge of organizing this 2023 ORC Double Handed World Championship, one of the the most important regattas of this sport in the world. Different competitions will be held with distances ranging between 200 and 70 nautical miles, which will cover part of the Catalan coast or the distance to and from the Balearic Islands, and each one will have its winning boat. Preliminary regatta of the 37th America's Cup Barcelona
Over four days, from September 14 to 17, the historic port of Garraf de Vilanova i la Geltrú will host the first preliminary sailing regatta of the prestigious America's Cup. Divided into one day of training and three days of competition, this preliminary regatta provides the first glimpse of the six teams participating who will race against each other from August to October 2024 at Port Vell in Barcelona. The races are open to the public, free of charge, and they will be able to see the AC40 monohull ships up close.

From August to October 2024, Port Vell and along the beach to Port Olympic will be the scene of a very exciting competition. The America's Cup is famous because there is only one winner and no second place is awarded. It is the oldest international trophy, dating back to 1851. For many years the trophy has been won by the New York Yacht Club of the United States but since 1983 countries such as Australia, Switzerland and New Zealand have won it, with the current champion being the Emirates Team New Zealand. Barcelona's Port Vell will have large areas and viewing platforms for the public. After various preliminary regattas, the America's Cup Match will begin on October 12, 2024.
Menorca Sant Joan regatta Alfonso XIII Trophy
On June 23, a good number of ORC Cruise type vessels will set sail from the port of Barcelona to the Port of Mahón, in Menorca, each with the aim of getting there first. This is the Menorca Sant Joan regatta, Alfonso XIII Trophy, organized by the Real Club Náutico de Barcelona and the Club Marítimo de Mahón by delegation of the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation, and with the collaboration of the Catalan Sailing Federation and the Balearic Islands Sailing Federation.
